Over 30 years ago, I qualified as a Dietician in Belgium and worked for several years in Antwerp University Hospital at the department of Endocrinology.
Fast forward to 2015, I retrained at The College of Naturopathic Medicine (CNM) in London as a Naturopathic Nutritionist to enhance my knowledge and understanding about the interaction of the different bodily systems and the impact of all foods with its nutrients on these systems.
I am now fully insured and qualified as a Naturopathic Nutritionist and a member of the British Association for Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine (BANT) as well as The Association of Naturopathic Practitioners (ANP).
I love working with patients and help them reach Optimal health through a personalised Nutrition and Lifestyle Plan. The Power of Food (with all its nutrients) and its effect on the body has always fascinated me.
I’m so pleased I decided to retrain as a Naturpathic Nutritionist! I love its holistic approach and it confirmed the incredible interaction of food on the different bodily systems. The in-depth One-to-One consultations are the best way to find out which Fresh Foods are best for YOU!
Sofie’s Fresh Food actually started in my childhood. My mother cooked (without fail) Fresh Food every day!
As children, my sister, brother and I never missed school and always had a lot of energy (apart from a few childhood diseases).
That makes you think as an adult! ‘It must have been in the nutrition of my mother’s Fresh Food!’ There was no science behind it for her but it worked for all of us... Simple, delicious, healthy food full of nutrients!
The Nutrition course at CNM gave me confirmation again how powerful Nutrients are in Fresh Food! All the nutrients like Vitamins, Minerals, Anti-oxidants, Fibre, Amino Acids, Essential Fatty Acids and Carbs have one or several functions. When eating a balanced diet, these nutrients will work in symbiosis, to make you feel good. It is fascinating science that will keep us excited forever.
Our recipes are mainly vegetarian but we have some fish and meat dishes as well.
‘Eat in Moderation, Feast on Veg!’
Fresh Food, Full of nutrients, Fun and easy to make!
What do we organise as well?
- 1:1 consultations
- Cooking demonstrations and Nutrition (as a private function or an organised event)
- Workshops and Retreats combined with Yoga or Nordic Walking
- Free Recipes
- A Fresh Start
The cooking demos are like a Live Cookbook. Delicious and Nutritious recipes prepared in front of you, tasted by you and then (hopefully) prepared by you! I will be explaining the benefit of each dish whilst preparing them. This is a fun event from which you will pick up many great tips about nutrition and cooking.
We started working together with Sally from BerkhamstedYoga in 2017. We organise workshops and retreats together. Yoga and Nutrition go hand in hand! They are very popular and sell out very fast – check out for new dates coming up regularly by joining Sofie’s Fresh Food Updates or follow us on Instagram and Facebook.
We also organise Nordic Walking and Fresh Food events with Hil Warrell. Hil is a very experienced Nordic Walking coach who knows the Chiltern Hills inside out. She will take you on public footpaths you have never been before while talking about local history and making sure you have the correct walking style. After the walk, you will be invited for a short Fresh Food talk and a lovely, light 3-course lunch.
